Brainy Babies early literacy first five years sign language storytime toddler time

Join us for our VIRTUAL program on Zoom. Families enjoy stories and activities designed to encourage brain development and early learning practices.  Each week we will read books, sing songs in Spanish and English, dance, learn a word in American Sign Language, and more! Parents and caregivers will have the opportunity to join in the discussions on each weekly theme.

This program has an ASL interpreter and a fluent Spanish speaker.

Each week, we explore a different theme:  READING, TALKING, SINGING, PLAYING, MOVEMENT, and EMOTIONS. Parents and caregivers will learn how to use these practices to develop their children’s oral language and pre-reading skills.

Zoom link is sent to registered emails. You only need to register once and then you will be added to our mailing list.

Brain Building at BPL is made possible through support by the Robin Hood Foundation. Additional support for BPL’s First Five Years programs is provided through generous funding from the New York City Council as part of City’s First Readers; The Pinkerton Foundation; Lucille Strider and Robert Myrstad in memory of Adam Strider; Hamond Family Foundation and Terry Mansky; Andrea R. Bozzo & John Martinez; Sagalyn Family Fund; and Ellen Freudenheim & Daniel Wiener. Support is also provided by the Brooklyn Eagles—a group of young and engaged Brooklyn Public Library supporters.
