Brooklyn Public Library: Librarians of Tomorrow
This paid internship for 10th-12th graders matches you with a Library mentor. You'll receive training, tons of work experience, and knowledge about exciting careers. Apply now online here! Please ask your librarian if you require the print application instead. 

Teen Curators at Hill Art Foundation
This free, in-person program for rising high school juniors and seniors offers a unique opportunity to study with a variety of curators, art historians, contemporary artists, and museum educators, right in the heart of Chelsea. Teen Curators gain an understanding of art history, exhibition-making and research practice, as well as the vast career opportunities available in the fields of curation, collections care, museum management and museum education. Teen Curators culminates with participants presenting their curatorial ideas with the larger arts community, at the Foundation and on our website. This is a paid position and all participants will receive a stipend upon completion of the program.

New York Historical Society: Student Historian Internship 
October 20, 2021 – June 15, 2022, Wednesdays, 4:00pm - 6:30pm ET

Be a history changemaker. Use the resources of New-York Historical to conduct teen-led research on undertold yet highly relevant histories, on topics you care about. Learn about the history of activists and social movements and discuss how knowledge of history can inform change-making in the present. Work with historian mentors and take trips to history archives to help support your work. Develop leadership skills as you lead gallery tours and produce creative digital projects that cover culturally responsive stories that aren’t well represented in our history books today. 

Open to high school students, entering grades 10-12. Interns who attend a Title 1 School or are eligible for free or reduced lunch will be offered a stipend to participate. Unpaid internships will be provided for all other accepted students. 

The Moth's Free High School Storytelling Program: Applications Open!
All City is a FREE, after-school, VIRTUAL Moth storytelling program for 10th-12th graders in all boroughs and schools of New York City,  now accepting applications for the Fall 2021 Moth All City High School StorySLAM teams.

Reel Works Filmmaking Workshops
Reel Works is recruiting for our 2021-2022 Filmmaking Workshops! We offer a FREE intro to documentary and advanced narrative filmmaking workshops to high school and college-age students 14-24 years old.

The Documentary Lab
The Doc Lab is an intensive, 24-week after-school filmmaking workshop offered to high school students in NYC. This is a free introductory course to documentary filmmaking and no previous filmmaking experience is necessary. Apply here by September 30. 

The Narrative Lab
The Narrative Lab is a free filmmaking workshop open to advanced young filmmakers (graduates of The Lab or other similar programs) who have distinguished themselves artistically and want to continue to hone their skills as filmmakers. Apply here by September 30.

Brooklyn Museum Internships:
InterseXtions: Gender & Sexuality
Explore gender and sexuality through art and activism, and organize programs for other LGBTQIA+ youth.
8 months: November 2021 - June 2022
Open to all NYC teens ages 14-19 who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, two-spirit, gender nonconforming, questioning, and/or queer

Teen Night Planning Committee
Produce free monthly events for other teens that connect art and social justice.
8 months: November 2021 - June 2022
Open to all NYC high school students

Reel Works Fellows
Reel Works Fellows is a free intensive training program for talented young artists to specialize in a filmmaking discipline, and build a portfolio for college and career success.
Attend a mandatory virtual information session in November, and apply here by December 1.
