'Tis the season to be reading! Here are some new and upcoming releases in December and January to put on hold now:

Acting the Part / ZR Ellor: Playing a lesbian warrior on a hit TV show, queer actor Lily Ashton orchestrates a fake-dating scheme to save their on-screen love interest from being killed off while coming to terms with their own gender identity.

The Poison Season / Mara Rutherford: Betraying her family, her best friend, and her whole community by saving a young outsider from drowning in the poisonous lake that protects her island home, Leelo nurses Jaren back to health, understanding that discovery could lead to unthinkable consequences for both of them.

Whiteout: a novel / edited by Dhonielle Clayton: In Atlanta, just before Christmas, twelve teens band together to help a friend pull off the most epic apology of her life during the storm of the century, which results in a magical moment that changes everything.

6 Times We Almost Kissed (and one time we did) / Tess Sharpe: Penny and Tate have often clashed, despite their mothers' epic friendship; but now that they are living in the same house, beset by medical crises and Penny's problems dealing with the trauma of her father's death, they have to come to terms with their true feelings for each other.

16 & Pregnant / Lala Thomas: Best friends Erykah and Kelly have their junior year planned out, but everything changes when Erykah finds out she is pregnant, and as Kelly tries to support her throughout the pregnancy the two girls learn some harsh realities about the world and are forced to make some huge decisions.
