Benefit Events
The Library hosts several benefits each year to raise critical funds to support programs and services across Brooklyn. BPL's largest fundraiser, our Annual Gala, provides excellent opportunities for company visibility, employee engagement and client entertainment, while supporting the vital work of one of the borough's most important institutions.
Public Programs
BPL hosts tens of thousands of free public programs each year including early childhood literacy initiatives, after-school homework help, technology programs, arts and culture events, entrepreneurship programs and adult classes. BPL relies on the support of private philanthropy to offer these programs year-round across the borough. Our partners enjoy unique engagement opportunities and the chance to connect with patrons directly through speaking opportunities, visibility and PR benefits, volunteerism and invitations to special events. Summer Reading is BPL’s signature program to promote reading and prevent “summer slide,” the loss of children’s academic skills during the summer months. BPL hosts thousands of programs over the summer with more than 100,000 attendees.
LevelUP is a workforce advancement program designed to help Black women get to the next stage professionally and build wealth.
Teen Techies is BPL's highly successful teen internship program which provides Brooklyn youth ages 14-18 with hands-on technology training and meaningful volunteer experiences as an introduction to the information technology field and to enhance library services for the public through technical assistance and teen-led programming.
Culture Pass provides free admission to library cardholders offering them access to 100 partner sites in NYC including museums, historical sites, theaters, gardens and more.
Capital Support
Brooklyn Public Library is currently engaged in several exciting large-scale capital projects including a complete renovation of the Red Hook Library, which will be BPL's first "net zero" building. Naming and other recognition opportunities are available for renovation projects, teen tech centers, children's areas and meeting rooms across BPL's 60+ branches.
Matching Gifts

In-Kind Giving
BPL welcomes in-kind donations of products and services including donations of technology, beverages and catering, promotional and media support and in-kind printing services.
Volunteer Opportunities
The mission of the volunteer program at BPL is to enhance public service through the engagement of diverse and dedicated volunteers. Corporate volunteerism provides opportunities for team building, to give back to the community and to fulfill social impact and corporate social responsibility objectives.
