Using an active BPL library card or Guest Pass, you can send documents to a BPL printer remotely from your own device. Simply upload or email documents to the Print on Demand web portal for later release from a BPL printer in any one of our neighborhood libraries.

About the Print On Demand Portal
From a computer, upload to the web:
Requirements
- A computing device (desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone) that has access to the Internet.
- Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Chrome, or any other web browser.
- An active Brooklyn Public Library card or a Guest Pass.
- Funds for printing: 10 cents per black and white page; 50 cents per color page
- To upload a document, visit bklynlibrary.org/printanywhere
- The login box shown below will appear.
- In the “Barcode” box, enter your Brooklyn Public Library card barcode number (the 14-digit number on the back of your library card). In the “PIN” box, enter your PIN associated with your Library Card.
- After logging on successfully, you will see the Print On Demand portal. Click on the Upload button and browse to where your documents are stored.
- After the document appears in your Job List, you may adjust the print options or preview the document in the Print On Demand Portal.
- Release the print at your nearest Brooklyn Public Library print release station.

From a mobile device, email your files:
Requirements
- A computing device (tablet, or smartphone) that has access to the Internet.
- An active email account.
- An active Brooklyn Public Library card or a Guest Pass.
- Funds for printing: 10 cents per black and white page; 50 cents per color page
- Register your email address with the Print On Demand system by forwarding your files as attachments to printanywhere@bklynlibrary.org.
- Follow the instructions in your Welcome Email from Print On Demand.
- In the “Username” field enter your Brooklyn Public Library card number (the 14-digit number on the back of your library card). In the “Password” field enter your PIN associated with your library card.
- After you log on, you will receive a message that the email address has been successfully registered to your account. Note: Email registration is required only once.
- Email your document as an attachment. Note: The file will print in color and charge you 50 cents per page if there is any color on a page, no matter how insignificant. Only documents entirely in black and white will print at the 10 cents per page rate.
- Release the print at your nearest Brooklyn Public Library print release station.

About the Print On Demand Portal:
While you may be able to see the portal on a mobile device (smartphone or tablet), the below features are available only from a laptop or desktop computer.
- View your current card balance as well as the cost for each print job.
- Delete print jobs no longer needed (print jobs are automatically deleted after 48 hours).
- Preview your document before printing.
- Select black and white or color prints.
- Select single-sided or double-sided printing. Note: Only the copy machines will create double-sided prints, and you will still be charged for each side of the page.
- Adjust the number of copies.
- The Activity tab will show your previous print jobs, computer sessions, and other activity on the system. It is a view-only list. You cannot do any reprinting from this list after the print job is released to the printer.

How do I get a Brooklyn Public Library card?

How do I get a Brooklyn Public Library Guest Pass?
A free Guest Pass can be printed from the kiosk found at your local Brooklyn Public Library branch.
How do I print a webpage or email using Print On Demand?
To print a web page or email, you must first save the web page in one of the above Accepted File Formats, such as a PDF.
How do I pay for my prints or add money to my account?
You may add money to your account for printing at the self-service kiosks found at all Brooklyn Public Library locations. You may use cash, credit, or debit to add funds.
How do I print double sided?
From a computer, you may select double-sided through the Print On Demand portal. You must then release it from a copy machine. You will still be charged for each side of the page. You cannot select double-sided printing when you email your documents to Print On Demand.
Why can’t I upload my file to Print On Demand?
Print On Demand may be used for documents 10 MB or smaller only.
How long do my files stay in the system?
Files will be available to print for 48 hours after upload.
I didn’t receive my welcome email to print from my mobile device.
Check that you are connected to the internet. Many public buildings block cellular signals. Check your junk mail and spam folders. If you already registered, you will not receive another welcome email, but you will receive a notification email that your prints were received. You may go release your prints at this time.
