  • SummaryCollage, 23 x 25 inches, with images of family photographs and correspondence. Artwork created in New York Harbor Hospital Creative Arts Program, led by Beryl Brenner. Project: Visions of vets, 2009, referencing the theme: Who is an American veteran? Artwork was displayed at the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans Memorial and Vietnam Era Museum and Education Center. Exhibition label: Support our troops by Leekesha Greene. Ms. Greene’s work is a plea for the support of our troops. She states “The army isn’t just a community; it’s a family. You were taught and you teach values that are the same as those of the army.” The work is a self exploratory piece. It addresses issues of self love and bringing joy into her life. Her children’s names are on the bottom of the piece. They remind the viewer that although she is part of a larger grouping, she is still an individual and a singular human being.
