  • SummaryCollage, 23 x 25 inches, with text: Always believe. Artwork created in New York Harbor Hospital Creative Arts Program, led by Beryl Brenner. Project: Visions of vets, 2009, referencing the theme: Who is an American veteran? Artwork was displayed at the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans Memorial and Vietnam Era Museum and Education Center. Exhibition label: Always Believe by Pamela O’Donnell. Ms. O’Donnell’s work evokes the feelings of loneliness that the experience of war can provide. But it is an optimistic piece that beckons the viewer to “always believe” and that “as sure as the sun rises, soldiers, sailors and warriors pray to rest in peace.” People who have served in the military are often the biggest advocates for peace.
