In the background, visible for the first time from Borough Hall, is the Gair Building, and behind it is one of the Manhattan Bridge towers." Caption (0056): "Going down--Loolking north from Tillary St, with Washington St. at right and Cadman Plaza in the left background, as last girders of Brooklyn Bridge El terminal are being torn down. Demolition is part of project to bring Myrtle Ave El structure from the bridge to Myrtle Ave. and Jay St., where a new El terminal will be constructed out of the old girders." Four of the images are not dated.
