  • SummaryPainting of battleships at sea surrounded by cliffs, and positive symbols. Artwork made for project: Battle after the battle, 2013. Project was a collaboration of creative arts therapist Beryl Brenner with VA NYHHS psychologist Dr. Yasmeen Yamini-Benjamin and Kingsborough Community College recreation therapy intern Shawnese Marriott and focused on coping with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Exhibition label: The battle within my own mind, Chris Terrell, Drawing and Collage, 2013. The battle scene is the aftermath of Afghanistan. There’s a cliffside I have to get over to get to the clear skies. The sea is choppy but not as choppy as man. Every day make one person smile. My coping skills are music and help from family and friends.
