Exhibition label: Three different eras by William Hunter, cardboard, paper and drawing, 20 H x 30 W inches, 2012. William Hunter’s work explores three different periods of his life. As a young person, he was a bit of a happy hippie and dressed in the tie dye that we see. He was sent into combat and witnessed the mayhem of war as well as wounded soldiers and death. He presents himself in camouflage. He returned home but his perceptions were now altered by his experiences.
