Artwork created in New York Harbor Hospital Creative Arts Program, led by Beryl Brenner. Project: Visions of vets, 2009, referencing the theme: Who is an American veteran? Artwork was displayed at the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans Memorial and Vietnam Era Museum and Education Center. Exhibition label: The mind wonder by Robert Parker. “Even in a hospital setting I try to find positive people. When I came to the VA, my mood was very serious and the people there helped me to feel better. They were nurturing and kind.” Mr. Parker’s work show pictures of him feeling smiling and relaxed. There are flowers in the pictures and symbols such as the American flag. He shows a photo of Jennifer Wade from the New York City Dept. of Cultural Affairs, who worked with the group on the Visions of Veteran’s Project. He indicates that she was inspirational.
