  • SummaryCollage, 23 x 25 inches, with photograph of planes and ships against a desert landscape. Artwork created in New York Harbor Hospital Creative Arts Program, led by Beryl Brenner. Project: Visions of vets, 2009, referencing the theme: Who is an American veteran? Artwork was displayed at the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans Memorial and Vietnam Era Museum and Education Center. Exhibition label: Defense by Vincent Pilgrim. Mr. Pilgrim’s subtle artwork simultaneously evokes both simplicity and elegance. He shows images that represent the American military defending the flag and by association the country that this flag represents. This simplicity is invariably lost in today’s political climate. In essence, the main job of the military is to defend the nation.
