Exhibition label: Before and after the Navy by Thomas Matonti, cardboard, paper and drawing, 20 H x 30 W inches, 2012. Mr. Matonti served in the navy during the Vietnam War. His drawing focuses on the physical changes that have taken place in his body since that time. The graphic imagery that he utilizes in his work connotes life at sea.
