  • SummaryArtwork made for project: The flag under which I served, 2014; focusing on veterans' relationship to the flag of the United States. Project was a collaboration with the education department of The Museum of Modern Art. Exhibition assistance from recreation therapy intern Nelson Saintine, artist Andrea Solow and volunteer Phil Zimmelman. Flag with word: Peace. Exhibition label: No One Wants Peace More Than a Veteran by Edward Rodriguez. Collage, 18 H x 24 W inches. No veteran, including myself, would be here, if not for the grace of God. My piece simply acknowledges that every day of my second life. The life I’ve been graced with after combat. I give the Lord thanks. I make every day count by bringing joy to others, and helping out in any way I can. It’s my small way of thanking God for sparing my life, and honoring my friends that did not make it back home.
