This course will briefly explore the modern uses of different bamboo species in the furniture, handicraft and construction industries, and highlight the importance of bamboo resources in the climate change era. It will also help participants evaluate the properties of bamboo and bamboo products.

Stephen Tekpetey holds a BSc (Honors) Degree in Natural Resources Management and Doctor of Philosophy in Wood Science and Technology from Ghana. He has over 6 years of experience as a lecturer and research scientist in Public Tertiary research and educational Institutions in Ghana. He has worked extensively on sustainable utilization of bamboo resources in climate risk environment and currently an ISO technical committee member on bamboo and rattan standardization.
