Brooklyn Public Library's card is free for anyone who lives, works, pays property taxes or goes to school in New York state. There is a limit of one library card per person.

Library Card Eligibility
You are eligible for a Brooklyn Public Library card if:
  • Your primary residence is in New York state
  • You attend a school located in New York state
  • You work for an employer or business located in New York state
  • You own property in New York state
