Brooklyn Public Library's card is free for anyone who lives, works, pays property taxes or goes to school in New York state. There is a limit of one library card per person.

As of July 15, 2022, BPL is no longer offering out of state memberships. BPL library cards remain free for anyone who lives, works, pays property taxes or attends school in New York State. To proceed, please enter an eligible address below.

Borrowing Restrictions

 

New York applicants: to receive instant access to BPL's digital collection, please accept location sharing when prompted. You will receive a Welcome Card barcode and PIN immediately upon completing registration. Otherwise, simply proceed to activate your account at a BPL branch.
