Brooklyn Cultural Adventures Program

Thank you!

For over 25 years, the Brooklyn Cultural Adventures Program (BCAP) has had the privilege of guiding thousands of children through memorable summer experiences, exploring the rich cultural offerings of Brooklyn. Founded in 1997 as the Heart of Brooklyn, the program became a part of Brooklyn Public Library in 2013, and over the years, it has continued to thrive thanks to the partnership of six cultural institutions: the Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Prospect Park Zoo, Prospect Park Alliance, the Brooklyn Children’s Museum, and Brooklyn Public Library.

As with any long-standing program, change is a natural part of growth. After thoughtful consideration of the evolving needs of our community, the capacity of Brooklyn Public Library, and the current summer offerings of our partner institutions, we have made the difficult decision to no longer offer BCAP as a summer camp.

This decision comes after much reflection and is driven by our commitment to creating sustainable programs that best serve Brooklyn’s diverse communities. Our partners are already exploring new ways to foster connections across cultural institutions, and we are excited about the future possibilities.

Happy Adventuring,

The BCAP Team
