Pick of the month: ANYTHING by Left Field Cards!

This week we started carrying a line of hip, playful baseball inspired cards and gifts by Greenpoint, BK designer Amelie ManciniEach card is handcrafted using linoleum block printing and a traditional letterpress. Humorous, well-crafted, and beautiful colored, these unique cards make great gifts!

They also have a unique story: Mancini is a French-born painter and printmaker who moved to New York in 2006. When she arrived in the States, she didn't know what a curveball was until a couple of friends took her to Shea Stadium to watch the Mets play the Phillies.  That night Amelie fell hard for America's national pastime, and eventually she made it one of the central themes of her work.

One of the many reason I love Left Field Cards is because my husband is a HUGE Mets fan.  He loves to buy the hats and jerseys of his favorite teams and players. He dressed up a dead Brooklyn Dodger for Halloween. Amelie’s Marvelous Mustaches, a line of postcards that profiles the notorious staches of baseballs’ greats, is possibly the perfect gift for my mustachioed, baseball-obsessed sweetie.  But, besides my own selfish motivations, Brooklyn is a baseball town and I want to celebrate that history and culture in our store!  Brooklyn Historical Society is famous for our Dodgers Collection, and who doesn’t love the Brooklyn Cyclones?

If Santa still has some shopping to do, you know where to find Left Field Cards!
