Join us as we honor the finalists of the 2021 Teen Writing Contest and winners of the Ned Vizzini Teen Writing Prize.
The Ned Vizzini Teen Writing Prize, a cash award that is the centerpiece of Brooklyn Public Library's Teen Writing Contest, was launched in 2016. Winners and finalists have their pieces published in the Teen Writing Journal distributed by the Library.
Ned was not only a tremendously gifted author – one who started writing professionally at age 15 – he was also a dedicated mentor to young writers. Among the advice he gave to aspiring writers was to read widely, write from their hearts, and seek readers to provide feedback. The Prize is made possible by the generosity of Ned's family, friends and fans.
The celebration will feature the winners reading their writing and a conversation with best-selling author Tiffany D. Jackson who will discuss writing and publishing.
Please note: Registration will close at 12:30 pm on the day of the event. Registered attendees will be send a Zoom link to the event around 1:00 pm on June 14.
