Join Books Are Magic, Brooklyn Public Library, the Brooklyn Eagles to celebrate The 2022 Brooklyn Public Library Book Prize

At this virtual celebration, hosted by Isaac Fitzgerald, we will celebrate the winning authors of the 2022 BPL Book Prize in both Fiction and Non Fiction, hear citations from our BPL librarians and staff jurors, and toast the culmination of the Brooklyn Eagles' 2022 Stay Home and Read campaign, supporting BooksUnbanned.

About the prize: The BPL Book Prize recognizes writing that captures Brooklyn’s spirit and reflect the borough, one of the most socially and culturally diverse communities in the country. The prize is selected by both librarians and library staff, drawing on their broad knowledge of literature, contemporary writing, and the many populations they serve.

The winners will each receive a $5,000 prize and will be celebrated throughout the year with programs, book discussions, and more.
