author talks BPL Presents

In collaboration with the Municipal Art Society of New York and Green-Wood Cemetery, Park Slope Library is thrilled to co-present this book talk with photographer and writer Andrew Garn, moderated by writer Allison C. Meier. The event will celebrate Brooklyn Arcadia, the new book featuring Garn’s photographs of the historic Green-Wood Cemetery. Garn will offer a talk featuring photos from the book, to be followed by a conversation with Meier, and audience questions.

In Brooklyn Arcadia: Art, History, and Nature at Majestic Green-Wood, the New York City treasure, newly photographed, is revealed as garden in the city, repository for memory, and a place for repose, inspiration, and delight. Photographs by Andrew Garn, Foreword by Richard J. Moylan, and Introduction by Thomas J. Campanella. Read more about the book here.

The Municipal Art Society of New York (MAS) lifts up the voices of the people in the debates that shape New York’s built environment and leads the way toward a more livable city from sidewalk to skyline. MAS envisions a future in which all New Yorkers share in the richness of city life—where growth is balanced, character endures, and a resilient future is secured. From cultural programming to advocacy work, policy research, and much more, MAS works to serve New Yorkers across the five boroughs. Read more about the organization here.
