Bridging the Gap: Intergenerational Debate at BPL
We are committed to Bridging the Gap between the teen and older adult generations!
Join us on Zoom and in person at the Central Library for the Fall 2024 series,
Bridging the Gap: Intergenerational Debate at BPL!
This is a 10-session program for teens (ages 14-19) and older adults (age 55+) that requires a commitment to attend each meeting. Teams will be formed, and a debate tournament will take place!
Participants work in intergenerational pairs learning and practicing the art of debate. From what an argument is to crafting and developing a persuasive and impactful argument, Bridging the Gap will teach youth and older adults to develop and hone their research and public speaking skills.
Our debate program provides a safe space for both generations to share their talents and learn from one another. It’s where the fresh, creative Teen energy connects with the useful, tested Older Adult experience!
