3:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Prospect Park, Lefferts House

BPL Presents

Prospect Park Alliance and the Brooklyn Public Library present Campfire Conversations, a series of readings and talks set around an outdoor campfire at the Lefferts Historic House, complete with music and refreshments. This month, bring your poetry or music to share for our first Open Mic night, in partnership with Urban Word NYC.

Sign up for a 3-minute slot, available on a first come, first served basis. Hosted by Anthony McPherson.

Anthony McPherson is a New York City resident. His biracial poetry intertwines various art forms, as well as a myriad of character impressions. He ranked 13th at the Individual World Poetry Slam in 2015, and garnered the attention of Button Poetry, Huffington Post and Upworthy. He is a Nuyorican Grand Slam poet, and an Urban Word alum. Anthony represents those who left home far behind to make it, and those who will go far enough to find themselves - their best selves.
