In 2018, Barry Bordelon and Jordan Slocum bought a 130 year-old Brooklyn brownstone and blogged about the trials and triumphs of renovation under the byline “the Brownstone Boys.” The upshot was a devoted following of fellow renovators, a thriving restoration business, and now – a book!

Jordan Slocum and Barry Bordelon, aka the Brownstone Boys, are interior designers, authors, DIY-ers, and Renovation Project Managers in Brooklyn, New York. They share a passion for old homes and everything that comes along with them: the details, the quirks, the character, and especially the parts that need lots of love. The spaces they create marry that historic charm with a clean modern design. Barry and Jordan's work has been featured in Real Simple, Architectural Digest, Domino Magazine, New York Magazine, Rue, Apartment Therapy, and on HGTV, Good Morning America, and Magnolia Network. Their first book, For The Love of Renovating, debuts on June 4th 2024.
Tommy Silk has a degree in History from Fordham University and is a licensed New York Sightseeing Guide. He has lived in New York City since 2008 and has been documenting his observations of the city and its landmarks on his instagram account LandmarksofNY since 2019. He can often be found riding his bike around the five boroughs with a camera around his shoulder photographing as much as he can. He currently lives in Brooklyn with his wife and two dogs. His book Hidden Landmarks of New York will be released in October of 2024.
