Her new book Strongmen: Mussolini to the Present looks at 100 years of authoritarianism, highlighting common tactics and commenting on how the body politic can resist.  Join us as Ben-Ghiat talks to The New Yorker’s Adam Gopnik about Donald Trump, cults of personality, the rise of the new authoritarian state, and the important lessons history teaches about countering real threats to democracy today.
