Creative Aging: Bead Weaving Jewelry with Omi

The Peyote Stitch is Centuries-old and dates to the Native Americans and ancient Egypt. We will be using this ancient technique to fashion some contemporary beaded designs.

Learn how to design and create a Peyote Stich ring, earrings, and a bracelet to adorn yourself this summer. It is always a great feeling when someone admires your jewelry, and you can say, “I made it myself.” Beading is a relaxing technique, and you will want to create jewelry for yourself and even give gifts to your friends. There are so many variations to the Peyote Stich, and we will explore how to create unique patterns to make your pieces stand out! Just gather your favorite colors of beads and the rest of the supplies, and let’s BEAD together!!!

I will begin our session by providing info regarding the best type of beads to use and the supplies needed for success, followed by an even count Peyote Stich demo.

During the rest of our time together, we will work on creating a ring, earrings, and bracelet. You will learn how to create unique patterns for your beaded jewelry and finish your pieces perfectly!
