Brooklyn Public Library is proud to partner with Queens Public Library, the Institute of Museum and Library Studies and over 40 cultural institutions across the country to honor, promote, and continue hip-hop's legacy. Hip-hop was born 50 years ago right here in New York City, and Brooklyn played a pivotal role in its identity, evolution, and culture.

New Lots Library is offering a 4 week series of breakdancing classes every Monday from July 10 through July 31 with instructor Franklin Gin. 

Franklin Gin is the creator of WondrousNYC, the first studio to be dedicated to the style of Breakin' in NYC, the Mecca of Hip Hop.  He currently reps Brooklyn with the Brooklyn Nets' Team Hype on his 4th season. He also continually competes nationally and internationally with his crew Floor Obsession.  He continues to share his craft through performance, competition, and teaching.

All ages 5 years and up are welcome.
