Make Music New York with Sara Ontaneda!
Make Music NY celebrates the first day of summer with a day's worth of free, outdoor music performances.
Sara Ontaneda , an award-winning, Ecuadorian-American singer-songwriter, will perform for us. Her music mixes Folk, R&B, and South-American rhythms.
In August 2014, Sara released her first single "Pero Hoy". The song received media attention in Ecuador and thus began Sara's career as a singer-songwriter.
Sara finished her first EP, "Marte y Júpiter" where she took the roles of writer, recording engineer, and producer. It received numerous positive reviews from journals in Latin America and Spain.
On March 2017, Sara released her debut album, "Entre Espacios y Colores" which includes 4 songs in English and 5 in Spanish. With these songs, Sara was one of the winners of the Songwriting Contest at the 2017 New Jersey Folk Festival.
The Huffington Post rates 'Entre Espacios y Colores' as "an excellent album overall, with mainstream appeal... there’s no fluff, just great Nu-Latin jazz music. And Sara’s voice is not to be missed."
In 2019, Sara performed at the Richmond Film and Music Festival where she won the award for "Best Word Music". Sara continues to tour internationally singing songs from the heart.
Come to the Sunset Park Library for a program of fun and entertainment with Sara Ontaneda! For all ages.
