In this Ready Set Kindergarten Parent Workshop Series, we will hear from experts in the field of early literacy on the best ways to prepare your preschoolers to learn how to read. Parents and caregivers will learn daily strategies to encourage the development of six pre-reading skills:
- Phonemic Awareness
- Oral Language
- Print Awareness
- Letter Knowledge
- Background Knowledge
- Vocabulary
Learn more about the Science of Reading, how to select books for early readers, and the many ways libraries can support children as they build a strong foundation for learning how to read.
This workshop is geared toward parents and caregivers of children ages 3-5.
RSK Parent Workshops are funded by the NY City Council City's First Readers Initiative.
