Plaza Swing Series: Nation Beat
Nation Beat is a NYC-Brazilian collision that parades with an infectious, audacious energy, seamlessly bridging folkloric Brazilian rhythms with classic American roots music in an altogether creative and original manner. NB’s 21st Century fusion is an explosion of thunderous Brazilian maracatu drumming and New Orleans second line rhythms, Appalachian-inspired bluegrass music, funk, rock, and country- blues. Presented as part of Brasil Summerfest.
Dance lessons are at 6:30 pm, the band starts at 7 pm.
In case of rain, the event will be held on Thursday, August 9.
The Plaza Swing Series is made possible with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
