Please join us for a self-defense class that will be hosted by our community partner Malikah International. In this self-defense class, you will build your toolkit with safety strategies for if you or your community are under attack. Through a de-escalatory approach, Malikah will guide you through situational awareness, verbal technique, and physical de-escalation (including grabs and strikes). Be prepared for a fun interactive workshop, and wear something you feel comfortable moving around in!

Malikah is a grassroots anti-violence and wellness nonprofit organizing against gender and hate based violence through self-defense training, healing justice, financial literacy, and community organizing for safety and power. We facilitate, train and organize through partnerships with CBOs, private sector, public schools and religious institutions. We also run a mutual aid and organizing hub in Queens, NY where we serve an immigrant working class community and recently arrived asylum seekers.
