Black History Month dance fitness and classes music teen time

Join us at the Jamaica Bay Library for this special event presented by Urban Stages. Learn about the dances that shaped the culture of the East Coast from the 1970s to the 2000s! Participants will explore music and dance history, techniques for dancing at social events, and how to embrace their inner performer. This session includes: A warm-up to get into the groove. Movements spanning disco, funk, soul, dancehall, afrobeat, and hip hop. A celebration of the musical diaspora and its connection to hip hop, the most popular dance form in the world.
