You might have heard of proteins in your post-workout shake but did you know that proteins in your body shape your life and impact your health? From maintaining to repairing your cells to keeping your organs running, proteins are essential players in the body. In this talk, we will discuss what happens when proteins don’t act like they should and how that leads to disease. Join Delyar Khosroabadi and Halona Dantes as they explore the secrets of proteins beyond just nutrition.
(The library's Services for Older Adults' "Wednesdays of Wisdom" program series is partnering with Yale Science Communication's "Science in the News 2025" for this fascinating program. Yale Science Communication is a graduate student organization that presents cutting-edge science to the general public.)
Registration required. Zoom will be sent by 10am the morning of the program.
Services for Older Adults is partially funded by Coordinated Outreach Library Services aid from the New York State Education Department, administered by the State Library’s Division of Library Development. All programs are sponsored by Brooklyn Public Library’s Department of Outreach Services.
