  • SummaryArchitectural rendering: Caption: "Early history of the borough will be reflected in the architecture of new P.S. 4 [in] Brooklyn, which has been designed by McKim, Mead and White, and which will be erected on the east side of Sixth Avenue, between 1st and 2nd Streets, not far from the scene of the Revolutionary Battle of Brooklyn Heights. The building will cost approximately $1,395,000 and will provide seats for 1,351 children. The auditorium and the social and recreational facilities of the building will be available for community use during non-school hours." Note: The school was never built at that site. PS 4 is currently located at 530 Stanley Avenue in East New York.
