  • SummaryPart two: Andrew gives an homage to his father Willy Fuchs. Willy was a guidance counselor, a teacher and an army captain. Andrew describes a man Jewish to his core although he didn't like religion, who often expressed himself in Yiddish. After his father's death a man named Sol, who had lost his whole family in the Shoah, told hime a story about his father. In 1945 after Sol was force marched from another camp to Dachau, he was liberated by the American Army, but they could not render any other assistance to his group. Willy assisted him, as well as other people, using his Yiddish. Later on, Willy helped Sol to come to America. Willy had never spoken to Andrew about what he did.
