Caption: "Third oldest church in America--the Flatlands Dutch Reformed Church, at Kings Highway and E. 40th St., was organized on Feb. 9, 1954, in the vicinity of the first Colonial settlement in Kings County. The present white-steepled edifice, as photographed above in the Spring of 1951, was erected in 1848. It was the first church in Brooklyn and only two others in the county are older."
