Artwork was displayed at the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans Memorial and Vietnam Era Museum and Education Center. Exhibition label: The day the earth stood still by Ismael Rios. Ismael Rios states “that in war, a planet can feel uninhabitable.” In his artwork, Mr. Rios is portrayed as a strong, young Vietnam veteran, defending the earth from being attacked. He indicated that “the 2 circles represented the earth. One had graves and the other greenery and rebirth. I, soldier on maneuvers, looked to the future. Whatever bad experiences occurred, we remain strong!”
