Byrd. Caption on verso of 0159: Ice is free in Little America--Top hamper of U. S. S. Bear shows itself over a nice, cold, wind-swept ice pack as ship is halted on voyage to chart coastline of unexplored continent." Inscription on verso of 0162, "Chelsea, at Robins Dry Dock, will precede Byrd Expedition. To be renamed after Byrd's mother, Mrs. Bolling." 0163 includes round-shaped portrait inserts of unidentified girl and woman in foreground. The locations of the images are unknown. Two of the images are not dated.
