Journey to Parenthood

Journey to Parenthood: An Educational Series for Parents and Advocates Before, During, and After Pregnancy is a virtual workshop series for families moving through their childbearing years.

Join Erica Livingston, co-founder of Birdsong Brooklyn, and expert guest presenters for a series of 90-minute workshops focusing on nutrition, rings of support, self-care, and community resources at all stages of the journey to parenthood: preconception/pre-pregnancy; pregnancy, labor, and birth; and postpartum healing and support. Participants are welcome to either attend the sessions that are most relevant to them or participate throughout the series.

Grab-and-go kits will be available the week prior to each workshop at the Washington Irving Library. The series culminates with a resource fair at Washington Irving Library on Saturday, June 18, from 2 - 4pm. The resource fair will bring together presenters from throughout the series, along with additional community resources, giveaways, children's programming from the Brainy Babies team, and a diaper distribution by Little Essentials. No registration is required for the resource fair.

Registration is required for virtual workshops. A Zoom invitation will be emailed prior to each program. For more information or assistance with registration, please email HealthyBKLYN@bklynlibrary.org or call 718-628-8378.
