Inclusive Services at BPL provides unique programs for children and teens with and without disabilities. Fostering an inclusive environment, we open our doors to children and teens with and without disabilities their peers, parents, caregivers, and educators. Scroll down to see upcoming programs!

April is Autism Acceptance Month. Check out our lists of picture books, fiction and non-fiction books for school-aged children, fiction and non-fiction books for teens, and adult non-fiction. We also have a list of memoirs by autistic people, for a range of ages.

One-on-One Expert Assistance

Many situations require the assistance of an expert. We can provide one-to-one help for you and your child with the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process, early childhood services and programs, transition planning, navigating systems, including Developmental Disabilities, Mental Health, and others. First Wednesday of every month, 10am to 1pm

Facilities

Inclusive Services is located in four barrier-free BPL libraries and online. Our equipment makes the library experience accessible to children and teens with disabilities. Cube chairs, mats for floor play, positioning cushions, and adaptive toys are available. For information about adaptive technology, please call 718-253-4948.
