On Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 7 pm, Night in the Library returns with The Philosophy of Mathematics.
✨ For announcements on the night of the event please go to the BPL Presents Instagram page or to the Night in the Library App on the App Store or Google Play.
Night in the Library, BPL's overnight festival of ideas, invites you to talks, panels, workshops, and performances that celebrate the free flow of ideas in the company of others.
For the program’s 10th edition, Night in the Library: The Philosophy of Mathematics will explore truths, proofs and other paradoxes. Math may feel remote, if not incomprehensible, to many. Yet it is a fundamental element in all components of our lives, underpinning everything from science and the natural world to architecture, sports, fashion, music, and technology. Meet up at Central Library on Pi Day to consider the unexpected secrets and philosophies of mathematics—alongside topics like poetry, psychology, nature, and dreams—at an unforgettable night of art, culture and intellectual discovery.
