Professional Development: Understanding School Segregation Through Archival Sources with Miseducation Podcast
The Center for Brooklyn History and the creators of the Miseducation podcast are excited to present a professional development workshop for teachers about school segregation in NYC - past and present. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Brown V. Board decision, and yet New York City schools remain the most segregated in the nation. In this workshop, you’ll learn about the history of NYC school segregation through the Center for Brooklyn History’s archival materials and explore the present-day school system through the Miseducation podcast. Participants will walk away with a ready-made lesson plan and instructional resources. This workshop will provide teachers with 2 CTLE credits.
