Cereal Comics with Po Gasan-zade: Will Eisner's Storytelling
Join storyteller and illustrator Po Gasan-zade as they introduce the importance (and fun!) of comic storytelling by sharing some of their work and describing their development as an artist. Guiding the discussion will be one of Po's major influences, "father of storytelling" and comic artist Will Eisner. The presentation will conclude with a live art demonstration by Po.
Following the demonstration, there will be a Q&A with the audience. Cereal, milk and snacks will be provided for free.

Porad "Po" Gasan-zade is a Storyteller and Illustrator whose base of operations is in Brooklyn, New York. As a wee monster, they were obsessed with Batman: The Animated Series and followed Judge Dredd in his adventures within the 2000 A.D. comics. In 2018 they graduated from the School of Visual Arts with a BFA in Cartooning and in 2022 graduated with an MFA in Visual Narrative from the same school. Their projects have included a WW2 graphic novel which is told from the perspective of a Soviet Soldier stationed at Brest Fortress in Belgium, as well as a sci-fi adventure comic involving an alien planet full of creatures shaped like hats.
Po mainly focuses on topics that are of erotic and psychological natures, especially within the genres of science fiction and fantasy. They believe in including humor that balances out the seriousness and complicated nature that may surround these topics.
