Bklyn Robotics League

Love LEGOs, robotics and teamwork? Then head to a participating Brooklyn Public Library location for Brooklyn Robotics League.

The theme for this year is SUBMERGED, and kids and teens (ages 9–17) will use creative thinking to investigate the ocean's levels and learn how to use the LEGO Spike Prime set while exploring STEM concepts and making new friends.

In partnership with NYC First, BPL will host workshops leading up to the big competition on January 11, 2025, at Central Library.

To join a team by Tuesday, October 15, speak with a staff member at a participating location.

About FIRST LEGO League (FLL)

FLL is built around theme-based challenges to engage youth in research, problem solving, coding, and engineering. The foundation of the program is the FIRST Core Values, which emphasizes teamwork, discovery, and innovation. Students emerge more confident, excited, and equipped with the skills they need in a changing workforce. Students get to:

  • Strategize, design, build, program, and test a robot using LEGO technology
  • Create innovative solutions for today's challenges as part of their research project
  • Develop valuable life skills, including critical thinking, time management, collaboration, and communication, while becoming more confident
