Join us for a special joint author storytime as part of our Books Unbanned Storytime series, where we highlight books that have been banned or challenged in libraries, schools, and in other ways around the country.

Hannah Moushabeck will share her autobiographical picture book Homeland: My Father Dreams of Palestine illustrated by Reem Madooh, about a Palestinian family celebrating the stories of their homeland. Brooklyn-born Hannah Moushabeck is a second‐generation Palestinian American author, editor, and marketer who was raised in a family of booksellers and publishers in Western Massachusetts and England.

Aya Ghanameh will share her new book These Olive Trees: A Palestinian Family’s Story, inspired by the experiences of her family who cultivated her love of the earth throughout her upbringing in exile. Aya Ghanameh is a Palestinian illustrator, writer, and designer from Amman, Jordan currently based in New York City.

 

Limited signed copies of the featured books will be available for sale at this event.
