The Eastern Parkway Literacy Zone has partnered with the New York State Cannabis Workforce Initiative (CWI) to promote and support social equity in the adult-use cannabis market by providing quality workforce development and legal education. 
CWI will facilitate a five-part certificate training that provides an overall introduction to the cannabis industry. Participants who complete the program will come away with a general understanding of the cannabis market, the process from seed to sale, jobs available throughout the industry, and worker protections under labor and employment laws and New York's Marihuana Regulation and Taxation Act (MRTA). The program will help job seekers be better prepared for success in entry-level job interviews in the industry.
