Classical Interludes: Harlem Chamber Players

Black History Month BPL Presents classical interludes live music


Members of The Harlem Chamber Players -- violinists Ashley Horne and Claire Chan, violist William Frampton, and cellist Wayne Smith -- will perform a concert of works by past and living Black composers as well as a European classic.

The full program will be:

Joseph Bologne (aka Chevalier de Saint-Georges): String Quartet No. 1 in C Major, Op. 1
Florence Price: Juba from String Quartet No. 2 in A Minor 
Trevor Weston: Juba  
Adolphus Hailstork: String Quartet No. 2, Variations on “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot”
Sergei Prokofiev: String Quartet No. 1
