Classical Interludes: Opera Essentia
BPL Presents
classical interludes
live music
Opera Essentia provides under-reached NYC communities with approachable performances in gardens, parks, libraries, churches, and other neighborhood gathering centers, for Free.
"The Queen's Heart" is a One-Hour Distillation of Handel's Radamisto (1720), created by Artistic Director and countertenor, Jeffrey Mandelbaum. The production has five singers, two dancers, harpsichord and gut-string quartet, and stage direction by Rod Gomez.
This saga of Familial Treachery and Marital Love unfolds in bittersweet beauty, one ravishing aria after another. Obsession, Betrayal, and Self-Sacrifice just scratch the surface. What's in store for the hounded Zenobia? or the wretched Queen?
Come witness baroque Pop Star music! Passion that has lasted for 300 years...
