Fair Fares NYC MetroCard Enrollment Event

Hi everyone, the ESOL Literacy Zone Team will be hosting a Fair Fares NYC MetroCard Enrollment Event with the Department of Social Services (DSS) Thursday, March 14 from 2pm-4pm at Kings Highway Library (2115 Ocean Ave Brooklyn, NY 11229).

In this event you can: 

  • Sign up for a discounted MetroCard for subway and bus fares.
  • If you qualify for a Fair Fares MetroCard your subway and bus fares will be half price for single, weekly, and monthly fares.

To qualify you must have the following required documents (Refer to the document list):

  • Proof of Identity and Age
  • Proof of Address
  • Proof of Household Income

There is a yearly household income eligibility:

  • 1 Person: less than or equal to $17, 496
  • 2 People: less than or equal to $23, 664
  • 3 People: less than or equal to $29, 832
  • 4 People: less than or equal to $36, 000
  • More than 5 people: Add $6,168 for each household person
